Selling an Estate Property
If you are the estate trustee or helping a family member, selling the home is often the biggest task. Roger handles estate sales with patience, and coordinates with the estate lawyer.
What to expect
- Authority to sell. The estate lawyer confirms who can sign. In many cases a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee (probate) is needed before closing.
- Clearing the house. Roger can refer trusted local movers, cleaners and junk removal.
- Insurance. Vacant homes often need special coverage. Call the insurer early.
- Selling as is or with light prep. Roger will show you the likely difference in price so the trustee can decide.

Questions People Ask
Can we list the house before probate is granted?
Sometimes, with the right conditions in the agreement, but closing usually has to wait until the estate trustee has authority. Confirm with the estate lawyer first.
