Hamilton Real Estate
Roger moved to Hamilton with his family at seven and went to Glendale Orchid Park Secondary. He has been selling homes here since 1999, from lower city brick semis to Mountain bungalows.
Living in Hamilton
Hamilton is really two cities split by the escarpment. Below it, the lower city has older brick homes in walkable pockets like Westdale, Kirkendall, Durand, Locke Street and the International Village, plus east end streets around Crown Point and Gibson where homes are still on the more affordable side. Above it, the Mountain has post-war bungalows, backsplits and newer subdivisions with bigger lots and driveways.
Homes you will find
- Century brick semis and detached homes in the lower city
- Post-war bungalows and backsplits on the Mountain
- Duplexes and homes with second units near McMaster and downtown
- Condo towers and new mid-rise near the core and the waterfront
Getting around
The Linc and the Red Hill Valley Parkway connect the Mountain to the QEW and Highway 403. Hamilton GO Centre and West Harbour GO run Lakeshore West service toward Toronto.
Who buys here
First-time buyers priced out of the GTA, investors looking for duplexes and second units, McMaster students' parents buying instead of renting, and families moving up the Mountain for more space.
Roger's tip for Hamilton
In older lower city homes, ask about the wiring, the plumbing and the basement before you firm up. Roger looks at these on every showing.
